The award-winning Derby City Lab is open to the public seven days a week, though days and times may vary per event/exhibition.

Location & Opening Hours

You can find us at the heart of Derby city centre, in Unit S11 on the Ground Floor of Derby Market Hall, Tennant Street, Derby DE1 2DB (next to the Osnabruck Square entrance).

Monday – 8am to 3pm
Tuesday – 8am to 3pm
Wednesday – 8am to 3pm
Thursday – 8am to 5pm
Friday – 8am to 5pm
Saturday – 8am to 5pm
Sunday – 11am to 3pm

Finding us

By public transport

Derby City Lab is within walking distance of Derby Railway Station, which is approximately 1 mile away (20 minutes walk).

The Lab is well served by bus routes from all directions. For details of the most appropriate route for your journey visit, click here.

By road

Derby Market Hall is centrally located and serviced by three designated Blue Badge parking spaces on Osnabruck Square.

There are several on-street and multi-storey car parks within close proximity.

Bikes can be stored at Derbion Cycle Hub, which provides a secure, indoor cycle storage facility. Further information can be found here.

Cycle stands are available in Osnabruck Square.

Door entry

Level entry to door to facilitate step free access.

Toilets

An accessible Changing Places toilet is located on the Ground Floor. This contains a toilet, hoist, changing bed, a shower and a height-adjustable sink.

Assistance animals

Derby Market Hall is a dog-friendly venue.

You are most welcome to bring along your assistance animal(s).

Mobility

Level flooring ensures an inclusive and accessible space, with lift access providing seamless movement between the ground and first floors.

Induction loops

Unfortunately there are no induction loops in the Lab at present.

Colours have been carefully muted throughout the building – including fixtures, fittings, and furniture – to support visually impaired visitors.
