The award-winning Derby City Lab is open to the public seven days a week, though days and times may vary per event/exhibition.

You can find us at the heart of Derby city centre, in Unit 251 on Level 2 of the Derbion, London Rd, Derby DE1 2PL (between Castle Galleries and Goldsmiths and opposite Frasers/Sports Direct and Marks and Spencer).

Monday – 10am to 4pm
Tuesday – 10am to 4pm
Wednesday – 10am to 4pm
Thursday – 11am to 5pm
Friday – 11am to 5pm
Saturday – 11am to 5pm
Sunday – 11am to 4pm

Finding us

By public transport

Derby City Lab is within walking distance of Derby Railway Station, which is approximately 1 mile away (20 minutes walk).

The Lab is well served by bus routes from all directions. For details of the most appropriate route for your journey visit www.derbyconnected.com/getting-around-derby/buses.

By road

Derbion is serviced by 2 onsite car parks (payable), both of which contain disabled parking spaces. Further information and fees can be found here.

By bike

There are various Lime cycle hire stations located around the city.

Bikes can be stored at Derbion Cycle Hub, which provides a secure, indoor cycle storage facility. Further information can be found here.

Visitors using folding bicycles can store them inside the Lab.

Toilets

There is an accessible toilet located on Level 2 – Next to Marks & Spencers.

The Changing Places toilet is located on Level 1, near Frasers and M&S. This contains a toilet, hoist, bed, and height-adjustable sink.

Assistance animals

You are most welcome to bring along your assistance animals. Derbion offers specific advice, which can be found here.

Mobility services

Wheelchairs are available to hire free of charge from the customer services desk outside Boots. You just need a form of ID.

Induction loops

Unfortunately there are no induction loops in the Lab at present, however they can be found at the Customer Service desk on Level 1 outside Boots.
